Bermondsey Community Kitchen is a free non for profit training facility providing a Level 1 and 2 City and Guilds Professional Cookery qualification, for long term unemployed 16 to 24 year olds who are not in any other training or education, this includes single parents, young people with both physical and mental disabilities and young offenders. This will include providing our students with work experience, work placements and supporting them into employment once qualified.
Our project offers an ongoing enrollment program so that students can join at any time. The course is less than 16 hours a week and takes on average 3 to 6 months to complete a Level 1 qualification. Our project is grant funded and is free to attend. Those applying to the course do not need school qualifications or previous catering or cooking experience.
