Blue Elephant Theatre was set up in 1999 in the heart of the Camberwell community amidst the high rise tower blocks of the Wyndham and Comber estate. The purpose of our work is to provide artistic opportunity to those who would not ordinarily benefit from such. Blue Elephant Theatre works with disadvantaged communities, creating bespoke projects to raise aspirations, academic achievement, promote well-being and create meaningful participation opportunities, all free of charge for local vulnerable people. We also provide an artistic platform for emerging companies and artists who may not be able create work otherwise.

 

Each year, Blue Elephant engages around 2000 local people in creative workshops and offers free and very low priced tickets to see professional work in the heart of the local community.
