The area has changed dramatically over a ten-year period
that has included the completion of what is now London Bridge City, the building of The Shard and
the redevelopment of London Bridge Station. One thing that has remained
consistent through this time is the demand for more retail
in the area. However, that is set to change with the opening of 92,000 sq ft of
new retail, food and beverage offerings in over 70 retail units at London Bridge Station – the most
ever in a Network Rail station.
There are existing pockets of retail along Bermondsey Street, Hay’s Galleria, Borough High Street and
Tower Bridge Road, but how will the new influx of businesses effect the overall retail and leisure picture in London Bridge and how can we help bring them success?
Team London Bridge has commissioned
Kallaway and
Emotional Logic to research and draft a Retail and Leisure Strategy for London Bridge. This will look at shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, hotels, and attractions, to ensure that BID services are supporting this sector as strongly as possible and helping provide consumer experiences that excite and demand repeating.
We will need the input of all local retail and leisure businesses through this autumn as the team go about their research and consultation. If you would like to make sure you are part of the process please email
