London Bridge station is fully open
Yesterday, January 2 2018, Network Rail unveiled the final section of the new concourse at London Bridge, as well as the new entrance to the station on Tooley Street and the final five platforms at the station.

Rail users and the local community were thanked for their patience while Network Rail carried out the final works over Christmas to get the station ready.

What to expect from your new London Bridge Station

•  A spacious 12,000msq station with a concourse the size of the pitch at Wembley
•  Better access to London Bridge City and the riverside from the striking new entrance and pedestrian crossing on Tooley Street
•  Improved north-south links through the station between St Thomas Street and Tooley Street
•  Two new retail units in the main concourse
•  A more spacious route to the Tube through the Western Arcade, under the impressive arches
•  Newly constructed platforms 1 – 5 open for the first time

Service changes at London Bridge

The New Year at London Bridge has started with a new timetable in operation for all train operators and Southeastern’s Cannon Street services made a welcome return to platforms 1, 2 and 3 at London Bridge. Please check before you travel.

From May 2018, Thameslink services will return through London Bridge for the first time in over three years, serving a range of new destinations.

Changes to ticket acceptance

As Thameslink services will not be running between London Bridge and London Blackfriars until later in the year, customers with a valid ticket travelling between London Bridge and London Blackfriars, City Thameslink, Farringdon and St Pancras International may use the following routes:

•  Northern Line between London Bridge and St Pancras International;
•  Southeastern service to London Cannon Street then District or Circle Line to London Blackfriars.
Customers can resume their journey from London Blackfriars. Buses will no longer accept tickets.

Looking ahead

The countdown to completion of the transformation at London Bridge now begins. While the majority of the work has now taken place, there are still some jobs to do in the station and on the tracks, but this work will be finished during evenings and weekends, rather than on working days. Full completion of the station is due in May 2018 and the new retailers in the Western Arcade will be open for October 2018.

Nadia Broccardo, Team London Bridge CEO said, “Team London Bridge and our business community has long supported the redevelopment of London Bridge station and are delighted with the results. The station is a stunning piece of architecture in its own right and the Thameslink Programme in London Bridge has been managed extremely well under often challenging circumstances. The Network Rail, Costain and Thameslink project teams have become part of our community over the past six years and we look forward from benefitting from the new retailers, public spaces, rail connections and capacity that the opening of the new station brings.”
