On Tuesday 7th August you may have noticed London
Bridge Station looking a little more floral than usual, all in the name of a
fundraising event Team London Bridge ran in partnership with St Mungo’s.
Team London Bridge employ Putting Down Roots - an initiative
of St Mungo’s that uses horticultural training to help those experiencing homelessness or
at risk of becoming homeless - to manage multiple green
spaces across London Bridge. After almost 10 years of partnership, we wanted to celebrate this inspiring project and help raise funds for the charity; thanks
to Network Rail were able to do so right in the heart of the station with a
pop-up garden.
We hope some of you managed to stop, chat, make use of the
free salad seed pick’n’mix or kindly donate. If you’d like to find out
more you can do so here
or drop by Melior Street Garden between 8am – 1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
where you can find the Putting Down Roots team.
If you’d like to help us look after London Bridge’s green
spaces please email henry@teamlondonbridge.co.uk
and we can set up a volunteer gardening day for you and your colleagues.
