In spring 2018, Team London Bridge launched a Culture Strategy for the area and appointed our first Arts Director, Ellie Beedham. This was in recognition of London Bridge having enormous potential to become a main stage for culture and arts, and the desire of the local community to make sure it continues to evolve as a vibrant, exciting place to live and work.
Since then, Ellie has worked tirelessly to start bringing high-quality programming to London Bridge as we begin to alter perceptions and create a new understanding of the area as somewhere of genuine cultural significance to the capital.
A key part of this work is inspiring artists and producers to use London Bridge as their venue of choice, and in bringing
Popcity UK vol.4 to Ugly Duck in January, Team London Bridge helped the capital host an international dance competition.
On Saturday 5th January, 450 people attended the event London Bridge which was featured in The Guardian, on BBC Radio London and broadcast on London Live.
Popcity vol.4 was the UK leg of the global Popcity competition. While fiercely competed, Popcity is a gathering that encourages learning and collaboration, bringing people from different cities and countries together to share ideas and grow the community.
A big thank you to all involved and everyone who attended for bringing incredible energy and talent to the area.
Popcity UK vol.4 is presented by Fiya House, commissioned by Team London Bridge, funded by Arts Council England and supported by Ugly Duck.
