Team London Bridge has been fortunate over the past 12 years to have a stable and dedicated
Board of directors, representing the local business community and steering the projects and services that the BID supplies.
During 2018 we have had the unfamiliar situation of two Board members stepping down at the same time. We were terribly sad to lose both Andrew Sell and Cllr Fiona Colley as Directors during the summer as their contributions over the years have added insight and experience to the BID. We thank them both for their time and commitment.
However, this gives us the opportunity to welcome two new faces to the Board.
Councillor Victoria Mills is Southwark Council’s Cabinet Member for Finance, Performance & Brexit, and takes her place on the Board to represent the residential community. Cllr Mills takes political responsibility for the development and implementation of the council’s budget and for performance management across the council. Cllr Mills is also leading the council’s response to Brexit, ensuring that the council is prepared and able to continue to deliver its fairer future programme after Brexit whilst also supporting EU residents in Southwark with the effects of Brexit.
Taking his place on the Board to represent large businesses is Paul Brackley, General Manager at the Shangri-La Hotel, at the Shard. Paul started his career in hospitality some 30 years ago as a trainee manager at the Savoy hotel on the Stand and has worked at a number of London’s best hotels including Claridge’s and The Connaught. In addition, Paul has served for 6 years as a trustee and director of the Institute of Hospitality and 3 years as a trustee and director of the Victory Services Club in Marble Arch.
We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Victoria and Paul to Team London Bridge and look forward to working with them on the exciting projects we have ahead of us.
